Welcome back to My Conclusion

I’ve given this website a bit of thought over the last few months. I think we can all agree that My Conclusion provided a needed forum for young members of the Family International to be heard on topics that mattered to them and to be heard by the general public. However that time period is past and I feel this site needs to take a new direction.

Recently I’ve been able to connect with many good friends of mine who are no longer members of the Family. I’ve thought about this website and how some of the posts on it may make them feel. Some of the posts are pretty gruff and paint with a broad brush, which is understandable within the context of the events of 2005.

So I’ve decided to take My Conclusion in a new direction. I’ve completely archived all posts from June 1st 2009 and back. The old posts are accessible via the Archives tab at the top of this site, and will no longer be directly accessible via the home page. Over a period of time I will review some of the old posts and may remove some. However the majority of them will remain for historical purposes.

I’ve invited a few friends of mine: Julia, Chris, and Steve to help me take this website in a new direction, I’ll refer to them from here on as the “editors.”

Here’s our plan: Whenever an editor finds a post on a blog, or an article on a website, run by a current or former member of the Family that they would like to feature, the editor will post a small commentary and link to that article.—Kind of similar to the editor evaluated approach of Slashdot. Note: Although we may link to an article on a website, that does not mean that we necessarily are in agreement with the entire contents of the website, or the comments attached to the article.

It will be up to the editor to either close comments on an article or open them. We will most likely prefer to drive the comments to the original post, but we may at times open up comments on My Conclusion itself.  Note: Before commenting, please read our “Terms & Policies.”

Hopefully this site will turn into a lively place with positive articles that are relevant to today. If you have an article you want us to syndicate, you can use our “Submit an Article” form. We also welcome original content that you would like to have featured here. All content must comply fully with our Terms & Policies.

Enjoy the new website and let us know if you have comments or suggestions.

    Dear Editor,

Just a little tip. When you want to link to another blog for a good post, make sure you’re liking to an especifc post, or else you might might come up with a little surprize.

I went to the link on Tinas blog (which I am familiar with) looking for the creativity post, and found a post about food, and when I scrolled down I found pictures of the FDTP, and THEN I found the post you were talking about.

Being a blogger myself for a couple years, I know that you can find really good posts, but a lot a junk too, heh!

Most blogs will allow you to link to the especific post.

    I love you!!!

    Est.

Hi Esther, Thanks for the comment. In regards to the Creativity post, Tina’s blog is linked in general and then the quotation below is the link to the actual article. Sorry it wasn’t clearer, we’ll review with the editors the best ways to make the actual article link stand out a little more.

With the current reboot it is refreshing to find sites like yours and Karen’s, where those of us who have been keen on TFI for a long time but have had little actual contact can catch up and get up to speed before September.
