Youcef A. Schmuck Speaks Out

I would like to say that I think it is very sad to hear of the depths to which some people can stoop to and how far they are willing to go to reach their goals. I am referring here not just to Ricky and his violent actions against Angela, but also to all of those who seek to make this terrible and tragic happening a way to further their agenda in the name of helping those of us who are so-called in “harms way” because we have of our own free will chosen to remain in The Family International.

Being a Christian and serving as a missionary for all my life, helping others in need in many different countries in Asia, I believe and have personally seen that life is precious and something that God gives to us to use for a purpose. Though it may not turn out always as we had hoped or wished for, it is only when we face life with a positive outlook, leaving behind the difficulty and even the wrongs of the past and moving on with what is ahead that we can truly succeed and accomplish good.

I can say for myself that I am happy, challenged, fulfilled, and that my present lifestyle is the path that I have chosen to follow in my life. I am currently living in Southeast Asia where I work as web designer and full-time volunteer. I am not presently married but if I were to have kids I couldn’t think of any better or safer place where I would wish to raise them than in The Family.

My mission and goal is to serve others who are in need and to do good–not to harm, hurt or cause others to have to experience injustice in the name of “helping them.” This is my choice. I hope that what you choose to do with your life will be the same.

Youcef A. Schmuck (24) is a second-generation member of the Family International.
