Christopher Pair Speaks Out!
My name is Christopher Pair. I am a fulltime member of The Family Intl. and have been one all 19 years of my life. I write this letter in regards to the recent violent murder of Angela Smith followed by the suicide of Ricky Rodriguez. Although this unpleasant incident has not affected me personally to the extent that it has some of my friends, as I did not personally know Smith or Rodriguez, I am writing this as a testimony for The Family Intl. and as my stand against the accusations of those that oppose/avidly fight this organization in the media war that has followed their deaths.
There have been accusations against the Family on many different fronts, however one that seems to come to the fore more often than most is our care for our children. We have been through many court cases on this subject in many different countries around the world. However we have won every single court case and The Family has proved to be a safe environment to raise children. Unfortunately our apostates have again brought up these accusations suggesting that it was because of Rodriguez’ childhood in The Family that he committed this crime.
Being that I grew up in the Family I feel I am in the perfect position to comment on this subject. I had the perfect childhood, I could not have asked for a better one. I have said this many times throughout the past couple years and I still stand by it. I lived with people who followed this simple formula for happiness:
“Jesus, Others then You, spells JOY!” We all loved (and still do) love Jesus first of all. Our second priority was (and still is) to love others. We put the needs of our fellow man above our own. Last on everyone’s list was looking out for themselves. Living in a community like this creates an incredibly secure atmosphere for a child to grow up in as we knew that everyone was putting us above themselves. Thus special attention was given to ensure that I (and all other children living with me) had all our needs met including our physical, mental and spiritual needs, which is more than can be said of many children in the world today.
I was happy as a child and have never lacked any of my needs. In fact, I have had most of my wants as well. I have never been abused in any way, certainly not sexually and I don’t personally know anyone that has. I don’t know everyone in The Family, however I have traveled a great deal (throughout Europe, Africa and the United States) and have met quite a few. Every child I’ve met has been well taken care of and well adjusted. Studies have been taken by academics throughout the world on this and they have come to the same conclusion as I have: that The Family is a safe environment to raise children. In fact I believe The Family is a superior environment for raising children, and when I have children of my own; this is where I want them raised. I know of several people who were at times tempted to forsake this life of sacrifice, but in considering the care and needs of their children, they could not imagine raising their children anyplace else, so they hung on and are very thankful they did.
I am disgusted, however not shocked that our apostates would use this tragedy to their own ends. They’ve become are so deluded that they think they’re right. The Bible explains this:
2THES 2:10b,11 Because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.
I am also disgusted to hear that there are even those that condone the murder of Angela Smith. This however is also explained in Bible prophecy:
JOH 16:2,3 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
But although they try to slander our name, lie about us and persecute us both verbally and physically (as seen in Angela’s death) I am comforted by this verse that proves we are living godly in Christ Jesus:
2TI 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
I would fear more if everyone liked us and spoke well of us, if we were accepted by all. As the Bible warns us:
LUK 6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! For so did their fathers to the false prophets.
My word to our enemies: Give us your best shot! You cannot stop what The Lord has started. Your vicious acts only serve to make us stronger in faith, stronger in unity and more certain of our cause. Regardless of whether that was your intent. I take full responsibility for the life I have chosen to lead. I don’t need you to tell me what to do with my life, my orders come from higher up. If you have further “BEEF” with me or the lifestyle I have chosen:
ISA 50:8-9 He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me?
Let us stand together: who is mine adversary? Let him come near to me.
Behold, the Lord God will help me; who is he that shall condemn me?
Lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.
Sincerely,
Christopher Pair
