The recent events that took place regarding Ricky and Angela are tragic and my condolences go out to their families. I don’t know them personally but do feel sorry for the loss of life. But something that’s very disturbing is how some people will take these actions and twist the facts to try and slander and malign those of us who have chosen to stay in the Family and serve the Lord to the best of our ability.

It all comes down to what’s been man’s God-given right since the beginning of time: choice. Murder is murder no matter what the reason or excuse, and pre-med is something a person deliberately chooses to carry out and spends time thinking, planning, taking all options into considerations. That is why we have courts of law. And if you don’t believe in or trust the impunity of them, the alternative option of everyone meting out their own justice would result in total chaos and anarchy.
There are some who say that “every child in the Family is at risk of abuse, neglect, and physical, emotional, and mental harm,” and that they need to be “rescued.” But the truth is that the real ones who are in desperate need of rescuing are ones like Ricky and his chums who are creating a downward spiral of emotional instability through lies, misinformation, self-pity, hate, a false sense of reality, and depression. These are the types of people who the Family is trying to reach out to and help put back on their feet.

I have never been abused in my 23 years living and growing up in the Family, and have never known any kid who has. I now have two kids, and they are not in any way harmed or abused, neither will they be. It’s funny how when you become a parent you get a real protective instinct that will cause you to give your life for your offspring. Because I know that if I found anyone abusing or even trying to abuse my kids, they would be so sorry they even thought about it. That goes for any kind of abuse, including trying to take them away from their parents to place them in some God-forsaken institution. I will personally come and search you out and hunt you down even if it’s the last thing I do. When I do get to you you’re going to be wishing you had done something productive with your life instead of barking up the wrong tree!

To blame Ricky’s upbringing for his consequent and final actions is absurd! As far as I know, he never killed anyone while he was in the Family neither did he attempt suicide. So if you feel that there is validity in blaming the Family for Ricky’s actions and that there needs to be an end to us, you’d better think again. That would mean then that many of the established institutions will also have to be done away with. And I’m not talking about religious ones either. There are many stories of ex-military personnel who after retiring from the army end up as mercenaries, hitmen, and the likes. Does that mean the military gets the blame for actions committed by former members?

Mark Thatcher recently was convicted in court of trying to overthrow another country’s government through private means. So now do we haul out old mommy Thatcher and anyone who was a member of Parliament during her time in office and blame them for his actions? Are they all contributing to this act of trying to take out a government and install a new one which will undoubtedly result in bloodshed and have a detrimental effect on hundreds if not millions of lives?
So get real. Get a life and stop being pawns of those who weren’t selfless enough and able to give their all to helping the betterment of mankind!
