Hi there, my name is Serghei Pînzaru and I’m 26 years old. I would like to share MY SIDE on the events of January 8th. First of all I’m deeply moved and saddened by Ricky’s murder of Angela. When I first heard about it I was shocked… Even though I never knew Ricky Rodriguez personally I know from the people who knew him that he was a very intelligent young man and that he was happy when he was in the Family International. What made him change??? Contact with antagonistic and hatred filled apostates who is sunk so low that they claim Karen Zerby was the one to blame for what has happened, incredible!!!

My sincere prayers are with the families of those who been involved. The scripture which comes to my mind is this: “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution”. (2 Tim 3:12)

I’m a member of the Family International for the past 8 years, and previous to that I was a professional ballroom dancer in the Ukraine. What made me change my chosen career and join the Family International? It’s very simple, really, after I’ve met the Family I heard God’s call to: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”. (Mark 16:15) Jesus also sad:” If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it.” (Luk.9:32-24). This and other things moved me to give up my life of pleasure, riches, fame and comfort for going to those who needed help, encouragement and the love of Jesus.

I’m very fulfilled and happy in the Family and since I’m living here I’ve been in many countries working with hundreds of Family missionaries, young and old who had the same desire to serve and help those in need without asking anything in return. I want to live the life of a missionary, this is my FREE choice and I respect the choices of those who have left our movement. But I will not stand seeing the same people who were with us and served alongside us destroy everything we cherish and live for. But please tell me – why do you have to prove that my choice is wrong?

In all my time living in the Family—in over 10 missionary communities, in over 6 countries—did I ever see “abuse”, “brainwashing” and “freewheeling sex among members and their youngest members — including children” and all the other lies which we are attacked with??? NO I NEVER seen this nor heard of it being done and GET THIS, if I would know of such things or seen them done, believe you me, I would not be here today. So let me tell you what I and many others are doing on a daily basis. We are: giving our lives in loving sacrifice to others, going to the hospitals, orphanages and other institutions, preaching the Love of Christ to young and old, doing programs for children, clown shows, bringing humanitarian help to those who are in need. For which one of these good things do you persecute us???

My advise therefore to those who are no longer with us and who are slandering us with lies and un-truths of all sorts is this: MOVE ON and GET A LIFE that will make you happy and STOP murmuring and complaining about the past. Do something with your life, don’t waste it for nothing, get over it and leave us alone to serve Jesus and to serve others! It makes me sick to hear over and over again the same story like a broken record when in countless academic studies and court cases and many countries it was proven that the Family International is a SAFE PLACE TO BE and raise your children. I’m not married and I don’t have kids, but if I ever will have children, I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that this is the place where I want them to be raised. With so much love and care for each other, so much understanding and love I’m convinced that this is the best place in the world!!!

Love never faileth. And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is LOVE. (1Cor.13:4-8a, 13) and instead of hate and lies, please LOVE!!!
