The Family is a Heritage I’m Proud Of!

I must say that the events that took place, concerning Angela and Ricky, were quite shocking. I did not know Angela, nor have I heard of her until now, but from growing up in the Family, I am sure she was all that others who did know her made her out to be—loving, caring, a help and encouragement to those she encountered. It saddens me to hear of the death of someone with such good qualities. She surely did not deserve such treatment. But I know that now she is in a better place away from all the suffering and confusion of this world.
As for Ricky, it is shocking to hear that he was the cause of such a tragic event. Since he was our leader’s son, there have been many things written of him and stories of his childhood. I had concluded from reading these issues that he was a well-cared for, intelligent and happy child. I still firmly believe this was the case. Even after he left our group, we were informed that he just wanted to live another life and there was no inclination of bitterness or past grudges.
Because I know neither Angela nor Ricky personally, I will not discuss further about them. I did want to comment, however, how I personally feel about this event. To be honest, to see or hear of incidences such as these puts a knowing smile to my face. Now, please, don’t get me wrong. I do not relish happenings as these. If it did not have to be so, I would not wish for it to be. However, by reading the Bible I am informed that events such as these must occur before the End comes. So, to see a manifestation of such events that have already been written for centuries now is quite an exciting thought. Of course, to think of people like Angela who have to suffer because of man’s wrong actions, does sadden me. But I am happy to know that soon all sorrows and tears of heartache shall be wiped away. I do hope that there won’t have to be too many tragedies, but I would prepare my heart if I were you. For as Matthew 24 says:
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. … And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. … And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. … For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible they shall deceive the very elect.
This and much more must come to past
And only then shall the end come.
So you see, more actions like this one will come to pass whether we like it or not, sad to say, because of man’s wrong decisions.
I’m so glad I am in this wonderful Family. I’m so privileged and I wouldn’t ask for another life. In the news, I hear of all sorts of horrible things happening to kids and the unloving attitudes many people have for each other. It makes me sick! I can’t see how people can be so heartless. The Family is like Heaven compared to that!
I can honestly say my childhood is full of good memories. I felt love not only from my parents, but also from those I lived with, young and old. Yes, mistakes have been made. I will agree with you on that one. Nothing and nobody is perfect, it’s a known fact.
(Romans 3:23) For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
So what I can’t understand is why you disgruntled members take a few little issues and mistakes of the past, blow them up, blame them on the Family and say the Family is a dangerous environment for children. Wake up!!! Focus your attention on all the evil things happening in the world! This Family is about the SAFEST place there is.
Everyone has their God-given freedom of choice to choose to do good or evil. Sad to say, some make the wrong choices. So yes mistakes were and will still be made. People will be hurt. But that doesn’t make it the Family’s fault. It doesn’t make it our leaders’ fault. That would be classified as an individual’s fault or mistake. We’ve just got to move on, leave the mistakes in the past and get on with life. Otherwise we’ll stagnate and make no progress.
I refuse to base my decisions, of whether or not to be in the Family, on the mistakes of others. I follow God and do what He tells me. I’m determined to do my best to live up to the standards that are laid out for me. And by my free will and choice I choose to continue on in the Family. This is my firm decision. No, it was not because I was told to make that decision. No, it was not because I was “brainwashed.” No, it is not because I fear people here will not approve of me leaving. No, it is not because I am forced to stay. It’s simply because this is what I choose. I feel, for myself, that this is where I belong. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. This is what I know Jesus wants me to do, He told me so.
It makes me so upset when you (apostates) have the nerve to lie about us, saying that we’re a dangerous cult, that we’ve been abused as children sexually and physically, that we’re under-educated and whatever other nonsense you try to accuse us of. Would you please get a life and let me live mine as I see fit! All your accusations are as clear as day, NOT TRUE! Come and see for yourself! Hang out for a little while and see if we really are all that you make us up to be. Yes, you can turn your head and say, “No thanks! Been there, done that” but before you do, check your heart. Is what you’re saying about us the truth? I can guarantee you that you’ll realize that the things you are saying are Big Fat Lies! I’m serious! Don’t turn your back. Come and see. Our doors are open!
This Family is my heritage and I’m very proud of it! I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The next time you try to stick you nose into our business you’d better think twice. We’re in an army, the Lord’s army, and he’s not going to sit by and watch you try to hurt us. Oh no, He won’t! He’s going to fight back, and all we have to do is stand back and watch him, as he has promised. So watch out! The Lord’s got your number! I suggest you get down on your hands and knees right now and ask Jesus to forgive you for all your wrong doings. Ask for His forgiveness and set your heart right with Him before your cup of iniquity is full and His judgment comes upon you.
I’m not asking you to believe and live how I do, that’s not my point. Whatever you choose to believe and live like is your own choice and funeral. I’m just here to follow what Jesus says in Mark 16:15:
Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
(and that does include telling you).
Please, for you own sake, don’t waste your life on us. You’ll never be able to silence us! I know for one thing, if it was only me in this Family I would still be here, because it’s not the Family I believe or follow, I follow the Lord, He’s who I believe in. The Family is just a place where I believe I can serve Jesus best. It’s a privilege to be a part of it. I’m going to take up my heritage whether you like it or not.
He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Matthew 24:13
