My name is Nina Moore. I am a 30 year old mother of three children. I grew up in the Family and am still a member.

I am writing in response to the accusations against us from former members on the Dr. Phil show.

The things these ex members are saying are completely ridiculous, far fetched stories. I’m sorry, but after hearing what they are saying, I have to speak up. I can’t believe people would go so far as to lie and make up stories like that.

Yes, I do think that maybe 25 or plus years ago some abuse did happen in the Family, and yes, we were a bit secluded growing up, and maybe we did get a couple of spankings. But nothing as severe as what these people are saying.

Our children have a very good upbringing. They are not secluded; to the contrary, they are very social and have lots of friends. They know nothing about sex and the like and have NEVER been abused.

I cannot believe that people would lie like this and knowingly put myself and my family in harm’s way by trying to incite some kind of action against us. Doesn’t anyone have a conscience? Does anyone really want to know the truth, or is everyone just looking for a juicy story.

If you were really interested in the truth you would come and see for yourself that we are just normal people, like everyone else. We may have a few beliefs that you might find odd, but they’re not harmful to anyone and last I checked we still had freedom of religion here in America?

I feel helpless to think that Dr. Phil would air something like that, without first making sure it was true. I actually liked Dr. Phil and would watch him from time to time. Please make sure that what you are airing is true before doing so. You are putting many innocent people in danger by airing these lies.
